There has been a great response to a soft launch of Land & People 1 which is now available at:

the Post Office, Main Street, Clarecastle, Co. Clare, Ireland

This 192 page publication is priced at the very reasonable cost of only €10.00 (plus P & P by post). It contains many photographs and images of Clarecastle and Ballyea from archaeological sites, ruins, plans, drawings, buildings, paintings, photographs, documents and stories of people from the Parish.

The book is in a large format, with colour throughout the publication.

Chasing up family roots, I arrived in Clarecastle at the beginning of The Gathering Ireland 2013. Learning something of the place to whet my appetite, I was delighted to read the new book, ‘Clarecastle and Ballyea, Land and People’, to gain yet more insight into my heritage, not least to discover a photograph and mention of my great -great-grandfather. This book provides so much of interest re the places, people, occupations, lifestyle and wildlife of Clarecastle and Ballyea. In my all too short visit to Clarecastle, I now have such a wealth of information in my hands in this book, so beautifully presented.

It is a book of high quality, and its presence will grace any coffee table. A delight to read and a wealth of interesting history, particularly for past and present residents.
