Memories in Black & White
A 124-page book was produced to commemorate the opening of the new Clarecastle National School in 2008. It included many school photos from the early days of the 20th century. It had stories of school and life in Clarecastle in the olden days from former teachers and pupils, some now deceased. The children of the school contributed prose, poetry and art. These children are now in their mid-20s. Sale of the book raised almost €3,000 which was presented to the school by the editorial committee.
