Postcards
In our collections of old photographs, we have a number of old postcards with local scenes around Clarecastle. Some of these date from about 1900 and are images based on Lawrence photographs of that period. Then there are cards of the 1930s and 1940s and on up to the 1960s. If anyone has other postcards of the parish, we would welcome an opportunity to copy them for our archives.
We have a large collection of general postcards. Mainly of scenes in Ireland, the UK and America, with some European counties as well.
In the coming weeks we will be launching an exciting project for young people in the parish to design a new postcard for Clarecastle and Ballyea. The theme of the competition run in conjunction with the 2021 national iCan project is ‘Daoine agus Ait’
