Our Heritage Week project ‘Clarecastle on film in the 1950s’ was awarded the inaugural Clare County Heritage Week Award at the National Heritage Awards 2020 recently. The film shows aspects of village life as well as the unloading of ships at Clarecastle Quay. We are delighted to receive this recognition for the work of the group and would especially like to thank Pat Considine for allowing us to use the film which was shot by his father Anthony. Pat and Eric Shaw spoke to Clare FM about the film on 12 Aug 2020 and it was featured on RTE 1 News on 17 August as part of its Heritage Week coverage.
